Website woes

Y’all know I’ve been talking about getting my own site up and running, right? Well, I started with OpenCart, then switched to zencart (which I kept breaking), so I demoed Magento and fell in love. Called my host and switched.

Well, there’s a security patch that needs to be installed. Ok, cool. Downloaded and unpacked while backing up Magento, like the instructions said to do. Mid backup, I get a 500 server error. I’m thinking, “shit, I broke it again”. Call the awesome people over at the host, for the 3rd time in about 2 hours. The girl I got…let me put it this way- I’m 99% positive she had no idea what I’d read to her directly from the error page, so she submitted a ticket for the script team. Does that make any sense to anyone else?

Anyway, the patch is still sitting unpacked in a folder on my hard drive because I can’t get into my admin to continue following the simple instructions. I’m kinda sad about this because I wanted all products and logo uploaded this weekend so I could start testing.  Not happening.

I’m still determined to have it ready-to-shop by August 1. And I will. It may be the generic layout, but that’s where y’all come in. Once I give you the site, take a look. Any and all feedback will be appreciated and taken into consideration

In the meantime, I have to wait for these people to get back to me, sigh. 😟

Wanted to update y’all and give you a laugh that I kept breaking shit lol! I got a good laugh from it, so why not share laughs!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
